My Style
My heart is happiest catching real moments + real connection & I use prompts & movement to help attain that. I also like to make fun of myself and be goofy to get some laughter sprinkled in there. YES, I will gently pose you too! I know Grandma loves those classic smiley photos, and who am I to deny her of that?! But… Those in-between moments… They’re my jam. The ones where you’re wiping something off your lover’s face and laughing or swaying with your fussy babe. My #1 rule? No stress! If those kiddos are not feeling it, please don’t stress! No need to keep telling your little one to smile or fix their hair. I’ll sing and dance my butt off to get some smiles & giggles, but at the end of the day, I think it’s most important to document authentically to whatever season of life you + your loved ones are in. Also - The more relaxed you are, the better those images will be. My goal is that some day, years down the road, these photos will evoke precious memories. The one’s where you can hear the laughter, smell that sweet baby skin, feel your lover’s arms around you & the sand between your toes. This chapter in your story is so important. Let’s bring it to life.

I’m Kelsey - wife & mama to 2 wild little ones. I’m a lover of spicy foods, Burts Bee’s chapstick, 60’s autobiographies, true crime podcasts, running, and rainy days. If you see me out, I’m usually in workout clothes and a sports hat… I loathe dressing up and my idea of putting on makeup is simply mascara. In true mom fashion, I enjoy long car rides by myself while listening to true crime podcasts, but ultimately I’m a homebody at heart, and love nothing more than lounging at home in sweats with my little family.
I moved to Maui over 11 years ago right out of college with my husband and a couple suit cases. We didn't have much and we didn’t know much, but I wouldn’t change a thing about our journey. Originally born and raised in Iowa, I’m a proud University of Iowa Alumni(Go Hawks!), and my midwest roots are deep! But there is no denying the unreal beauty that comes with living on the beautiful island of Maui [and it certainly adds a little something to photos, amiright?!].
My family encompasses my whole heart and being a mama is my greatest accomplishment of them all. They’re my muse & what inspire me on the daily. You’ll see the sweet faces of my little ones scattered throughout my feed as they are what truly inspire me.

What time of day do you book sessions?
I leave that up to you! The most popular time is sunrise and sunset, but if you want a beach day style session in the middle of the day(I actually love shooting in full sun), I’ll be there!
Can you help me choose outfits for my session?
Heck yeah I can! I know how stressful it can be planning outfits, especially if you’re coordinating a whole family. I offer a styling service completely free to you. I will gather some information from you and provide you with links to different choices & where you may purchase them!
How long will it take to get my photos?
Sneak peek turn around is 1 week & gallery turn around is 4 weeks.
How will I get my photos?
I will send you an online gallery with your edited proofs to make your final selections!
